Privacy Policy

Last Updated: November 3, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit this website, use the contact form to inquire about services, fill out the Intake Questionnaire online, take the money communication quiz, or create an account to buy and take the Mastering Money Talks course.

1. Personal Information We Collect

When you visit the site, our website host records basic technical information about each visit, such as your IP address and web browser, to keep the site running and secure. We also use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, such as which pages are viewed, how visitors found the site, and their approximate location by city. Google Analytics does not receive what you type into forms, your account details, or your payment details. The site does not use advertising trackers.

When you reach out through the Contact Page or the question form on the course page, we collect specific information from you to better understand your needs and determine if we are a good fit for therapeutic or coaching services. This includes:

  • Identity Information: Your first and last name.
  • Contact Information: Your email address.
  • Your Message: The subject, if you add one, and any details you choose to share regarding your current situation.
  • Newsletter Choice: Whether you asked to receive news and updates (course page form only).

When you take the money communication quiz, we collect the email address you enter before the quiz and which of the four money communication styles the quiz gives you. Your answers to the individual questions stay in your browser and are not sent to us. The quiz also gives you a one-time discount code, which we keep with your email so it works at checkout.

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and a password. Your password is stored only in scrambled (hashed) form, so no one, including me, can read it. If you choose to sign in with Google instead, Google shares your name and email address with this site, and we keep the ID Google uses for your account so you can sign in with Google again; we never see your Google password. We also keep a record of what you have purchased and which lessons you have marked complete. If you write in the workbook built into the course, we store your answers so you can come back to them and save them as a PDF. They are encrypted before they are stored, and only you can see them, in your account.

When you buy the course, your card details go directly to our payment processor, Stripe. They never pass through or are stored on this website. We receive a record of the purchase, such as what you bought, the amount, and the date.

When you watch a course video, our video host, Mux, receives technical information about playback, such as your device type, your browser, and whether the video played smoothly.

2. How We Use Your Personal Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to your initial inquiry.
  • Schedule consultations or intake appointments.
  • Screen for clinical appropriateness (e.g., determining if your needs fall within my scope of practice).
  • Create and secure your account, give you access to the lessons you bought, and remember your progress.
  • Process your purchases and keep records of them.
  • Provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services (such as the Mastering Money Talks course), provided you have opted in to such communications.

3. Sharing Your Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share your Personal Information with third parties only to help us use your Personal Information as described above. These are our website host (Vercel), our database provider (Neon), our payment processor (Stripe), our video host (Mux), our analytics provider (Google Analytics), Google when you choose to sign in with Google, and the email service that delivers contact form messages, Intake Questionnaires, and password reset emails.

Legal Compliance: Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant, or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.

4. Cookies

The site uses its own cookies only to keep you signed in to your account, and for up to ten minutes while you sign in with Google, to protect that sign-in. Google Analytics sets cookies to count visits and to tell new visitors from returning ones; you can block them in your browser settings. Our payment processor and video host may set their own cookies or similar storage when you check out or watch a video, for example to help prevent fraud. You can clear cookies in your browser settings at any time; you will then need to sign in again. While you write in the workbook, your browser keeps a copy of any answer that has not reached your account yet, so it is not lost if your connection drops; the copy is removed as soon as the answer is saved.

5. Confidentiality Note

Please be aware that while the contact form on this website is secure, email and digital communication are not 100% secure. Please limit the amount of sensitive clinical information you share in the "Message" field of the contact form. Extensive clinical history should be reserved for the Intake Questionnaire or our first session. If you fill out the Intake Questionnaire online, your answers are sent to me by email as a PDF and are not stored on this website. If you would rather not send them by email, you can download the PDF instead and bring it to our first session.

6. Your Rights

If you are a resident of certain jurisdictions (such as the EU or California), you have the right to access personal information we hold about you and to ask that your personal information be corrected, updated, or deleted. This includes your account, your course progress, and your workbook answers. If you would like to exercise this right, please contact us through the Contact Page.

7. Data Retention

When you submit an inquiry through the site, we will maintain your Information for our records unless and until you ask us to delete this information. Account information is kept while your account is open, and purchase records are kept as long as needed for tax and accounting purposes.

8. Changes

We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons.

9. Contact Us

For more information about our privacy practices, if you have questions, or if you would like to make a complaint, please contact us via the Contact Page.
